Project Cutlass

50-Metre Axe-Bow Support Vessel — Two Roles, One Proven Hull

164 ft (50.0 m) · Damen Sea Axe design, built in Brazil 2012 · RINA class, in service

Why This Platform

Advantages of this hull

AXE BOW
Widened for Volume & a Dry Ride

Built to the Damen Sea Axe hull form with the bow widened — more internal volume, and spray thrown clear of the hull, the known weakness of a standard axe bow in a seaway.

492 GT
Under the 500 GT Line

Manning, survey and berthing stay simple. Commercial steel with yacht-friendly numbers.

20 KN
Speed & Range

20 knots maximum, 15 knots in transit — she keeps pace with a mother yacht. 70 days’ endurance on 178 m³ of fuel.

IN CLASS
In Service · A Quick Conversion

RINA class and working today. No reactivation, no lay-up recovery — the budget goes into the conversion, not into bringing her back.

A hull of this type, at this entry price, leaves the larger share of the budget for the conversion itself.

The aft deck takes the large tender, toys, a submersible and dive equipment off the mother yacht. 20 knots keeps her alongside; ten cabins house crew, dive and guest staff; DP1 and the crane are already fitted.

Expedition Yacht

A 10 m beam, 178 m³ of fuel, 75 m³ of fresh water plus a watermaker, 70 days’ endurance. The aft deck becomes helideck, tender garage and beach club; the superstructure is rebuilt as owner and guest accommodation.
