A diesel-electric Azipull-driven 81-metre expedition yacht engineered by Rolls-Royce Marine. 8,000 nautical mile range, ABS class, MCA LY2. Full engineering package on file; ready for tender to a capable European shipyard.
The RR81 is the product of Rolls-Royce Marine’s commercial-vessel engineering applied to expedition-yacht service. Azipull pod propulsion delivers exceptional manoeuvrability and quiet running; diesel-electric architecture provides redundancy and a forward path to future hybridisation. The hull form is optimised for ocean-passage efficiency at 12 knots and offshore comfort in moderate seas.
Complete engineering package is on file: hull form, structural drawings, propulsion system specification, electrical single-line diagrams, classification documentation, and interior/exterior design brief. The package is at the maturity required for tender to a building yard — the next step is yard selection and contract negotiation.
The RR81 is offered as a buildable specification. Xplorer Yachts manages tender to capable European yards, contract negotiation from the owner’s position, specification refinement with the principal’s designers, in-yard supervision, sea trials, and delivery. Engagement structure follows our standard new build owner’s representation practice.
The hard engineering decisions have been made. What remains is the owner’s personality — interior architecture, layout preferences, finish, and the choice of yard.
Full engineering package and yard-comparison memo available to qualified principals after a first conversation.
